The Safe Harbor Fashion Show benefit was an amazing experience for Reece!  She loved every minute of it.  When Reece took the runway it as magical!  The crowd went wild and Reece was awesome!  Thank you for this extraordinary experience, Reece will never forget it!   She will be on TV performing with her drama/dance team, participate in the Poinsett Fashion Show and the Belk Fashion Show on Saturday!  She is loving every minute of it!  Thanks again Barbara for helping dreams come true and building memories that will last a life time!

I just wanted to say that I am willing to help anytime you need me, I really love everything about Millie Lewis.  I loved teaching and hope to get to do it again soon.  I feel like I missed out on a lot growing up as far as becoming the woman I wanted to be because I didn't have my mother.  When I am with the girls/students at Millie Lewis, I always picture one of them as maybe being in the same situation so I try to give them as much attention as possible.  I try to teach them life lessons as well as make them feel like they are iportant and beautiful with the potential to do anything.  Self-Esteem was totally missing from my childhood and that is such a sad trait to be without at any age. So, that is why I hope I can make a difference.  I just wanted to say "thank you" for helping me find that in myself.  I love you guys!

Dear Barbara,

Wow! After Mother's Day, where I reflect on the many blessings in my life, I awake with a smile on my face.  You see, you have been part of creating that smile.  You have been a part by allowing our daughter to participate in events and experiences that have, potentially, pulled her from who she was to who she will be (and is).

For us, we believe that because of her time with you and your programs, that she feels she is beginning to believe in herself. Inside and out, she's beginning to see a beautiful, confident, courteous, capable young lady.  She certaininly hasn't always been there.  So thank you for that!  We are truly grateful for you and your programs that have positively moved her in that direction.

Everything went much better than I would have ever expected yesterday. Everyone had nothing but positive things to say for me and at times the praise was even overwhelming. I cant thank you guys enough for such a great experience. I think I've now got the bug for this if I didn't already.  I want to change this from being a great experience into one can only hope the beginning of a prosperous adventure.

Barbara,

I wanted to let you know that I am going to be an intern within a large firmhere in Greenville.  The interview process was very competitive and I am extremely excited to have this opportunity.  I do not know if anyone from the firm called you to talk about my past experience with you, but whether or not they did, I am so thankful for your willingness to do so.

I did not turn out to be a model per se, but I think I have turned out to be a model citizen, student and employee.  You, George and all the Millie Lewis staff I knew had a huge impact on making me the person I am today.  Thank you for the endless amount of love, caring and time you showed me over the years.

"I wanted to share with both you and Barbara that I have received numerous comments about Millie Lewis from CCES parents after Prom last weekend.  Nina was photographed and in the paper and also in City People and everyone loved her accessories and the way she carried herself.  I attributed it all to you guys and the program you have. (The theme was "Old Hollywood" and naturally Nina loved that and played up the glamour with a flower in her hair and a black net over one eye, which she thought of and designed on her own.) Anyway, I told several moms to think about signing their daughters up and I hope they do! Just wanted to share that and to say that I am grateful for Nina's good fortune to have involved herself with your talented team.  You really do make a difference in the lives of these young women and I wish you every success and good things."

I just wanted to take a minute to tell you how much I enjoyed the show on Sunday.  All your hard work really paid off because the whole production was absolutely amazing and I think everyone in the audience was really impressed with all the girls.  I know I was really impressed with the Pro girls and the fact that they truly looked like professional models!  You are an awesome teacher!

Thank you so much for all that you’ve taught Kelsey.  She loved every minute of your class and I know she will miss you and all the other Pro girls.  Her experience at Millie Lewis over the past few years has been such a positive influence on her and I have watched her self-confidence grow because of it.  She proudly wears her Millie Lewis t-shirt and loves to tell people how great your school is!

Our Model of the Year - Ashlin Hughes (Spring 2010)

Ashlin heard about Millie Lewis on the radio and researched it on the Internet before giving me her sales pitch.  She had been enrolled in dance classes since the age of 2 but at 16 she just wasn't enjoying it any more and wanted to do something different.  I was a little surprised that she was interested modeling.  She had always had a unique fashion sense and at the time she was going through a "Goth Phase"; clothes, eyeliner and nails all black, hair bleached in sections, the only color she wore was red lipstick.  So, I was a little worried about how she would be received at Millie Lewis but she really wanted to try it so we signed her up. 

From the very beginning she loved it.  The classes were fun and the instructors were great.  At every class she was learning something new.  She completed the teen courses and was very happy when she got accepted into the Pro class.  This class focused a lot on modeling and she was able to participate in some actual fashion shows which she loved.  But the greatest experience and one of my proudest moments was when she won Model of the Year at the spring show; she was so surprised and excited.  This has been a great experience for Ashlin.  Thanks to everyone at Millie Lewis and special thanks to her instructors: Tammy, Shelly and Barbara, you ladies are the greatest!

Barbara,

I just wanted to express my thanks to you again for not only being my instructor but also for all the hard work you and George put into the Production this past Sunday. It was the best one that I have been in and I think it truly turned out to be a success. Thank you for offering and teaching the Pro class. I learned so much that I will be able to take with me as I hopefully pursue at least a side job in modeling. Beyond what I learned for the business part of modeling I learned how to carry and take care of myself through my three years of classes. What you do at Millie Lewis isn't just molding girls into models, but giving girls a good self esteem. I am one of the lives that has been made a little brighter just because of what you do at the agency!  So this is my attempt to thank you a million times for what you do.

Dear Barbara,

I don't know if you will remember Leslie Whatley (now Leslie Bussey) after so many years.  Leslie took nearly everything Millie Lewis had to offer for at least five years...maybe more.  Her time at Millie Lewis had such a positive influence on her life.  Leslie is a happily married mother of two girls.  They both started modeling lessons this past week.  They had a ball and can't wait to go back.  Leslie said, "I wouldn't say a word because they enjoyed it so much, but I measure everything of this type by Millie Lewis, nothing never measures up to them.

I look back now, and so does Leslie, and we know that you had a big influence in the young woman she is today.  You helped her to be the best she could be!
